Qalgo History

The company was founded by Adrian Engelmann in 2004 in Karlsruhe. The basic idea was the creation of individual software solutions for the midmarket.

Various technologies should offer simple, transparent and clear solutions for the customer.

From the beginning on his motivation was to pack the complexity of a real requirement in a slim, friendly to use software.


Various development projects, strategic structure for future consultation activity, development of base class libraries (C++/Qt)
Conception and development of ABAX, a project management application for architects and construction engineers based on IBM/Lotus Notes (Ressource Planning, Offer, order, contract and Invoice monitoring, Time Management, Travel Management and automatic booking).
Conception and development of the AMS-System, an Alarm Management System for Fire Department Authorities (End customer: Bosch Automotive Electronics , Technologie: C++/Qt-Nokia/XML).
Partnership with Owaltec Romania focused on outsourcing web-development projects in Eastern Europe.
Conception and development of KDOC-System, a web collaboration platform for architecture, construction and investment projects based on IBM/Lotus Domino Web-Server and the web framework Yahoo User Interface. (Kunde: Kohlbecker Gesamtplan GmbH ). KDOC is used in well-known large projects mainly in the automotive industry.
Conception and development of KEMP-System, a personnel management system for payroll, leave, travel and employment  management, statistics  (Customer: Kohlbecker Gesamtplan GmbH ).
Further development of ABAX:

  • Design and development of a performance-based remuneration system based on organizational, team and individual targets.
  • BI analysis of all assigned time sheets, automatic form creation for various reviews.
  • Further development of ABAX, Change-Management-Modul
  • Design and development of HQ-Complaint Manager (End Customer: BINOLI GmbH, L’Tur GmbH), a Web-based database solution for the registration of service requests and  management of complaints.
  • Mrs. Daniela Popescu-Engelmann is a member of the company.
  • Design and development of CRM-System – Customer Relationship Management für Architekten und Ingenieure (Customer: Kohlbecker Gesamtplan GmbH ), a web-based system for the acquisition, sale and marketing processes in small and medium planning offices.

  • Engelmann Engineering | Qalgo GbR acquires Owaltec SRL Romania (branch for software development and Postionierung as a future market).
  • Engelmann Engineering | Qalgo GbR buys its own office. The new address of Engelmann Engineering | Qalgo GbR is Otto-Sachs-Str. 5 in Karlsruhe, Germany

  • The new product “Synapcus” was released in beta version.
  • The word mark “Synapcus” was registered and protected.
  • Synapcus:CRM integrates advanced functionalities for service industries such as architecture, consulting,construction, institutes and logistics.
  • Product and service catalog has been implemented.
  • An internationalized version was created. All modules are now also in English available.
Synapcus:PM and Synapcus:HRM have been released

  • Budget-Time-Quality analysis implemented in all levels of the project
  • The Gantt chart was integrated (based on JQuery).
  • The new time sheets calendar has been released: Google-style with drag ‘n drop capabilities.
  • Our new legal form is GmbH. The new company name is Qalgo GmbH.
  • We are exhibiting at the Fair Trade for IT solutions Stuttgart (08 – 10 October, 2014 ·  Hall/location 4F78).

New Features in Synapcus:

  • The new Synapcus App for iPhone and Android was published in the stores.
  • The Office 365 Outlook plugin allows the synchronization and input of address data directly in the Outlook user interface (web and desktop)
  • The Synapcus BIM 360 web app has been released in the Autodesk App-Store
  • The new Synapcus plug-in architecture allows the integration of various REST-API’s in Synapcus. Among other, plugins for Microsoft Office 365, Dynamics 365, Autodesk Forge and BIM 360, IBM Domino, Atlassian Confluence, Canon Uniflow are available.
  • The Finance Module Synapcus:FI helps general planners to manage large projects more clearly with new features such as orders, creditor invoices, subcontractor performance level.
  • New reports such as the extended post-calculation and gross profit analysis complete the Synapcus:BI module.
